Advocate Robin Pal Singh, a prominent poultry farmer and representative of the Punjab Poultry Association, has strongly underlined the crucial role of eggs in improving the health and nutrition of children.
Robin Pal Singh, who is also the Managing Director of Emm Bee Poultry Farms, described eggs as a “natural superfood” for growing children and stressed that they should be included as a regular part of a child’s daily diet.
Explaining the nutritional value of eggs, he said they provide complete protein, containing all essential amino acids required for proper muscle development, growth, and tissue repair. He added that eggs play a vital role in brain development due to the presence of choline, a key nutrient known to enhance memory and cognitive functions.
Highlighting the role of eggs in strengthening immunity, Robin Pal Singh said that eggs are rich in Vitamin D, Vitamin A, and Selenium, which help children fight infections and diseases. He further pointed out that the yolk of eggs contains powerful antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which significantly support eye health and improve vision.
Addressing common misconceptions, he clarified that eggs do not harm children due to cholesterol, as is often wrongly believed. “Eggs are a balanced, safe, and energy-rich food. Regular consumption helps children stay active and energetic throughout the day,” he said.
Robin Pal Singh appealed to the government to extend stronger support to the poultry sector, stating that the industry not only provides employment to lakhs of people but also plays a vital role in ensuring nutritional security across the country.
He further demanded that awareness campaigns promoting egg consumption should be conducted in schools and anganwaris to improve child nutrition at the grassroots level.
