ED’s Jalandhar Office Attaches ₹187 Crore Properties in Call Centre Fraud Case

Jalandhar, August 1, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached luxury villas, farmhouses and other immovable properties worth ₹187.13 crore in Goa, Delhi and Haryana in connection with a money laundering probe into an international call centre fraud targeting US citizens.

The action was taken by the ED’s Jalandhar Zonal Office under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, against individuals allegedly involved in operating illegal call centres and carrying out cyber fraud.

According to the agency, the money laundering investigation was initiated on the basis of an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following inputs shared by the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The case relates to allegations of defrauding American citizens of millions of dollars through online fraud schemes.

The ED said its investigation revealed that an illegal call centre, operating under the name “Digikaps — the Future of Digital”, employed around 36 people and allegedly targeted foreign victims by posing as a technical support service provider.

The accused persons allegedly obtained sensitive information of victims and threatened them with legal action by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), before inducing them to transfer money into cryptocurrency accounts. The agency alleged that the proceeds were later routed through shell entities, including Bliss Infraproperties LLP, and invested in properties.

Earlier in January and February 2026, the ED conducted searches at 13 locations across Punjab, Haryana and Delhi under the PMLA. During the searches, the agency claimed to have recovered digital devices, unaccounted cash of ₹34 lakh and documents linked to investments and property acquisitions.

The ED said the proceeds of crime were allegedly diverted into real estate assets in Delhi, Haryana and Goa by accused persons, including Joney alias Joney Tyagi, Dakshay Sethi, Raghav Satiha, Nikhil Verma, Gaurav Verma and Gautam Dhingra.

The investigation is continuing to trace further financial links and identify other persons allegedly involved in the fraud network.
