Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the transfers of five SSPs in Punjab.
ECI has ordered transfers of SSPs of Bathinda, Pathankot, Fazilka, Jalandhar Rural and Malerkotla.
Transfer of Bathinda SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill IPS has been ordered because of his relation with Congress MP and probable contestant Jasbir Singh Gill Dimpa. Harmanbir Singh Gill is the brother of Congress MP.
All four other SSPs have been transferred by the ECI as they fall under non-cadre category.
Following are the four PPS officers whose transfers have been ordered by ECI.
Pathankot:
Daljinder Singh Dhillon PPS
Fazilka:
Varinder Singh Brar PPS
Jalandhar
Rural: Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar PPS
Malerkotla:
Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh PPS
