The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has expanded its healthcare services with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at Guru Harkrishan Hospital, Gurdwara Bala Sahib.
DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka announced the facility’s inauguration on Friday. An ardas was offered on the occasion, seeking blessings for the facility to serve patients requiring diagnosis and treatment for cardiac ailments, including interventional procedures such as stent placement wherever medically advised.
Kalka thanked an Aditya Birla Group company for providing the advanced equipment for the facility. He said the Cath Lab had been established at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 5.5 crore to Rs 6 crore and represented another step towards strengthening healthcare services associated with Gurdwara Bala Sahib.
He said Guru Harkrishan Hospital already operates a 50-bed facility providing medical care to needy patients. The hospital also offers several services free of cost, including CT scans, dialysis and OPD consultations.
Kalka said healthcare facilities at the hospital were being expanded continuously with the objective of making quality medical treatment available to the sangat and underprivileged sections at affordable rates.
DSGMC general secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said the new Cath Lab would enable advanced diagnosis and treatment of various cardiac conditions. The facility would also support essential interventional procedures, including stent placement, for patients requiring such treatment.
Kahlon said the cardiac services would be offered to the sangat at affordable rates, making advanced cardiac care more accessible to ordinary people and those in need.
