Dr. Prashant Gautam (Chandigarh) and Mr. Jaskaran Bhullar (Ferozepur) have been unanimously elected as the State President and State Secretary, respectively, of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Punjab for the session 2025-26.
This announcement was made today from the ABVP Punjab State Office in Jalandhar. According to the statement issued today by the Election Officer, Sardar Harjinder Singh Nagpal, from the ABVP Punjab State Office, the tenure of both positions will be for one year. Both office bearers will formally assume charge during the 57th State Conference of ABVP Punjab, scheduled to be held in Jalandhar from November 14-16, 2025.
Dr. Prashant Gautam hails from Chandigarh. He holds a Ph.D. in Tourism and is presently serving as a Professor in the Department of Tourism at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He is also a member of the Senate of Panjab University.
More than 80 of his research papers have been published in international journals, and 15 of his books on tourism have been published.
He has been associated with ABVP since 1998 during his student life. As a teacher activist, he has held various positions, including District Incharge of Chandigarh and Vice President of ABVP Punjab. He has been re-elected as the State President for the session 2025-26. He resides in Chandigarh.
Mr. Jaskaran Bhullar hails from Ferozepur. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ram Sukh Das College, Firozpur and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Tourism and Travel Management from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) since 2017, he has previously held several key responsibilities including City Joint-Secretary, District Convenor, Vibhag Convenor, District Organising Secretary, State Joint Secretary and National Executive Member.
He has played an active and significant role in ABVP’s flood relief initiatives and various educational reform movements across Punjab. He has been elected as the State Secretary for the term 2025-26. He resides in Ferozepur.
