Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) today appointed Dr. Laxmi Chopra, Assistant Professor at Khalsa College of Education (KCE), Ranjit Avenue as Principal of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women.
She has a long teaching experience of about 12 years apart from being a doctorate in the field of education. She joined her office in the presence of Khalsa University Pro-Chancellor and KCGC Honorary Secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.
Chhina while welcoming Dr. Chopra on the seat, said they have high hopes that she would take the College to newer heights. He said since the time the College came under their management, Nanak Singh was serving as the Principal and was performing well but his sudden death led to the vacancy of the post.
They had deputed a senior Professor of Mathematics Amrik Singh as an Acting Principal of this College and now keeping in mind the achievements of Dr. Chopra and her excellent services at the previous post, she had been given the opportunity.
S. Chhina said that this girls’ College has been serving the cause of women’s education for a long time in the interior parts of the city. On this occasion, Dr. Chopra thanked the management especially KCGC President Satyajit Singh Majithia, Chhina and others. She also expressed happiness by reiterating her commitment to fulfill the responsibility as Principal with honesty and dedication.
He said that it was a proud moment for her to serve the institution under KCGC. Vice-Chancellor, (KU) Dr. Mehal Singh, office bearers including Paramjit Singh Bal, Santokh Singh Sethi, Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon, Gurpreet Singh Gill and Prof.Amrik Singh and senior faculty members of the College were present.
