A special Teeyan programme held in Muktsar on Saturday saw a large gathering of women celebrating Punjabi culture, with Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, interacting with participants and discussing various issues concerning women.
During the programme, Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann spoke with women from the Muktsar Assembly constituency and heard about their experiences and views on government welfare initiatives. Participants particularly highlighted the Maavan-Dheeyan Scheme, saying that financial assistance of Rs 4,500 and Rs 3,000 credited to their accounts had provided them relief and brought happiness to their families.
The interaction also took a political turn when several women began asking about the timing of the next Assembly elections. According to the organisers, their questions reflected their enthusiasm about the government’s schemes and their desire to see the Mann government return to power.
Women participating in the event expressed their wish for the elections to be held soon, saying they wanted another opportunity to support Bhagwant Mann and see him continue as Punjab Chief Minister.
The programme combined celebrations of Punjabi traditions with discussions on women’s welfare and government initiatives. The participation of women and their views on welfare schemes also provided a political dimension to the Teeyan gathering in Muktsar.
