Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) President and former Union Minister, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, has strongly condemned the behaviour of the Health And Medical Education Minister, Chetan Singh Jauramajra with Dr. Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
“Insulting an eminent doctor of international repute like Dr Raj Bahadur is not unacceptable. Also, because of this humiliating and rude behaviour Dr. Raj Bahadur was forced to resign from his position which again has demoralized the entire medical fraternity,” said S. Dhindsa.
He said that the Punjab Chief Minister, S. Bhagwant Maan should immediately ask Chetan Singh Jauramajra should immediately apologize to Dr Raj Bahadur.
Dr. Raj Bahadur is among one of the most prominent doctors and has worked in leading health institutions in the country. He currently he was serving as Vice Chancellor at Baba Farid University but the behaviour of the Health Minister who is ‘intoxicated by power’, has damaged the image of Dr. Raj Bahadur, said S. Dhindsa.
He said that it is a matter of great pride for Punjab that an internationally acclaimed doctor like Dr. Raj Bahadur is giving his services to the people of the state. The health minister should have thought twice before misbehaving with him, said S. Dhindsa.
“Presently there is already a shortage of qualified doctors and related health facilities in Punjab and in such a situation that the health officials and workers who are providing their services are forced to resign from their duties just because of the mistreatment by the government,” said S. Dhindsa.
