Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu have reacted sharply to the bail granted to Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia and the jail meeting with the Dera Beas head.
Both leaders clearly stated that the granting of bail does not amount to acquittal and that there is strong evidence against Majithia, which will be presented before the court.
Speaking on Majithia’s bail, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the grant of bail does not mean that any person has been acquitted. He made it clear that there is strong evidence against Majithia, which will be placed before the court.
AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu has made a major statement regarding the meeting between the Dera Beas head and Majithia in jail.
Pannu said, “We Respect the head of Dera Beas. There are many followers of Dera Beas all over the world. But with due respect, I want to say that the head of such a large Dera should, at the very least, not have gone to meet someone in jail.”
Baltej Pannu further said, “Saints and spiritual leaders remain detached from relationships and personal ties. As far as my understanding goes, this is how it should be.”
Pannu also said that the Dera head should not have acted like a judge and should not have passed any judgment. He said, “This is a judicial process and it should be left to the courts.”
