Deepti Uppal assumes charge as Kapurthala DC

Mrs. Deepti Uppal, a 2011 batch IAS officer, assumed the charge as Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala here today. Before joining as Kapurthala DC, she was posted as Additional Secretary Personnel and Managing Director, Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation Limited.

She had served as ADC (G) at Kapurthala from 8-12-2015 to 15-5-2017 and earned good name by her caring and generous approach towards the problems of people of Kapurthala.

This is her second posting as Deputy Commissioner as before her transfer to Punjab cadre, she had been Deputy Commissoner of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. Her first posting in Punjab was as ADC (G) at Kapurthala. She received lot of public notice and attention during her 25 day small stint as officiating DC of Kapurthala in 2017.

She has shown characteristics of a good administrator, while serving on different posts. She has served as CEO of Smart City Amritsar along with charge as Chief Administrator of Amritsar Development Authority.

She was given a guard of honour by Punjab Police personnel on arrival at District Administrative Complex before taking over the charge.

After taking over the charge, Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that the development of the district and the service to the people will be his first priority. She said, “She will always ensure to pay heed to public grievances and issues on priority basis so that such issues could be sorted out well in time.”

She said timely and speedy resolution of public grievances, expeditious processing of revenue cases and timely execution of development projects would remain his top priority.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner was also welcomed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr. Rahul Chaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) and other officials.
