DC, CP & SSP announce to wage decisive war for making Jalandhar Drug Free

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal today announced to wage a decisive war against drugs to make Jalandhar completely drug free district.

Chairing a meeting of the key departments here today, the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that as per the commitment of the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the district administration was duty-bound to eradicate this menace from Jalandhar.

They said that the anti-drug campaign in form of DAPO and Buddy movements needs to be further strengthened at the grass root level. The officers said that weaning of this curse was need of hour to channelise the unbounded energy of the youth in a positive manner.

The Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that since the framework of the war against drugs has already been set up now the administration needs to give a final blow to wipe out this menace.

They said that an effective roadmap would be framed by the civil and Police administration in the coming days to ensure that the campaign against drugs was more firmed up. The officers said that no stone would be left unturned for making this drive against drugs a huge success.

The Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police further said that the civil and Police administration would make joint efforts to ensure that drug was controlled effectively in the district.

Soliciting fulsome support and cooperation from the masses, they said that this war against drugs could not be successful without their participation. The officers said that sustained and consistent efforts would be made in district to ensure that drug was wiped out completely.

On the occasion Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Chawla, DMC Dr Jyoti Sharma, District Education Officer Mr Harinderpal Singh, Deputy District Education Officer Mr Anil Awasthi and others were also present.
