Court orders recording of statement of witnesses against Tytler in 1984 Sikh Genocide case 

New Delhi, November 25, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

A Delhi Court on Monday ordered recording of statements of witnesses against Chief culprit Jagdish Tytler in 1984 Sikh Genocide case and sought report within 15 days.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa disclosed that the DSGMC had approached the court regarding the lapse on part of CBI and probing the matter.

He said that the statements of the victims and witnesses were not being recorded and after lapse of 35 years, many witnesses have died. He said that the DSGMC has raised the issue of recording statements under section 164 and providing security to the witnesses.

Mr. Sirsa further said that recording of statements under section 164 is important in place of 161. He disclosed that the court asked that why despite of threats being issued to the witnesses a case under section 195 A is not being registered.

He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal is struggling for getting justice for the victims since last 35 years and will do so until all the guilty are sentenced to jail. He said that the legal team of the DSGMC is following the matter sincerely and will do so till all the guilty are pushed behind bars.
