Covid-19 has touched a new high in Punjab. 157 deaths and 7327 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours in the report received today. This is a new record of devastation by Corona in 2021.
The surprising, stunning, and disturbing fact is that Sunday saw a manifold rise in cases on Oxygen and Ventilator support.
Yesterday 644 people were reported on Oxygen support while 114 others were said to be on Ventilator support. The number of patients on Oxygen support today JUMPED TO 7525 while the number of patients on ventilator support has GONE UP to 229.
Out of the 157 deaths reported in Punjab today, 18 are from Bathinda while 17 people died in Ludhiana, 15 in Amritsar, 13 in Fazilka, 12 in Sangrur and 11 in Gurdaspur.
9 people died in Patiala, 8 in Jalandhar, 7 each in Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Mutsar, 5 each in Moga and Faridkot, 4 each in Ferozepur and Tarn Taran, 3 each in Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Mansa and Pathankot, 2 in Kapurthala and one in Barnala.
Out of 7327 new positive cases, 1404 are from Ludhiana, 1045 in Mohali, 725 in Jalandhar, 602 in Patiala, and 582 in Bathinda.
9317 people have succumbed to Corona since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020. The number of active cases has now risen to 60108.
