Convene Special Session of Parliament immediately to repeal Agri-Laws: Bhagwant Mann to Centre

Sangrur / Chandigarh, November 27, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann has demanded that the Center should immediately convene a special session of Parliament to repeal the central black laws on agriculture.

Bhagwant Mann lamented that the nefarious designs of the Modi government at the Centre and the Khattar government in Haryana to prevent farmers from holding a protest march in Delhi against the contentious laws were unconstitutional, adding that the BJP government had crossed all limits of constitutional propriety on the Constitution Day, describing it as a highly reprehensible step.

Talking to media persons before leaving for Delhi, Bhagwant Mann said that the way the BJP tried to stop the farmers from taking part in the protest march in Delhi, was nothing but a mere ploy to paint the peaceful peasants’ movement as violent. He cautioned the farmer bodies and others to be careful about nefarious designs of the saffron party.

Cornering the Captain-led Punjab government, the Sangrur MP asked those at the helms why roadblocks were put up at various places, including Chandigarh-Ambala Highway and Rajpura-Ambala Highway, like the Haryana government, adding the move had proved that Capt. Amarinder Singh was indulging in appeasing Modi.

Bhagwant Mann said, “Captain Amarinder Singh has proved himself as the weakest and helpless Chief Minister of the country due to his personal ‘weaknesses’ and political compulsions.

It was the prime duty of CM to go to Delhi along with the farmers themselves, but he had no time to come out of his comforts of his royal palace. If captain were with the farmers in this hour of distress, the Modi and Khattar governments would not have inflicted atrocities on the farmers, ”Mann said.

Mann said “Had Capt. Amarinder Singh shown a little concern with the farmers, the Modi government had dared to push such black laws.

He said that the Aam Aadmi Party had emerged from peoples’ movements, it better understands the sentiments of all sections including farmers, laborers and traders, businessmen” Mann said the AAP was ready to extend all kinds of help to the farmers, adding that it had been fighting for them from day one.

Bhagwant Mann appealed to all sections of people in the state, all religious and social organizations and NGOs to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the struggling farmers.
