Controversial Dera Chief Piara Bhaniarewala is dead

Ropar, Dec 30, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)
Piara Singh Bhaniarewala, a controversial Dera Chief, who remained in news for hurting Sikh sentiments died today.

61-year old Bhaniarewala, who was a resident of village Dhamana in Nurpur Bedi block of District Ropar complained of chest pain on Monday morning and was taken to PGI where he died.

It may be recalled that Bhaniara wala, who claimed to have formed a separate sect, got a Granth named ‘Bhav Sagar’ written by his followers wherein he was eulogized. The Sikh community got annoyed as the granth was prepared on the lines of sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

As Sikhs protested against this, terming the act sacrilegious, the state government put a ban on the granth. Bhaniara wala was booked and jailed.
