Congress in Punjab & AAP in Delhi defrauded youth, failed to provide employment: Parambans Singh Romana

Bhogpur, March 25, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Youth Akali Dal (YAD) today said both the Congress party in Punjab as well as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi had defrauded the youth by promising them lakhs of jobs each but failing to deliver on them.

Addressing a huge rally here which witnessed an immense outpouring of youth from the Doaba region, YAD President Parambans Singh Romana said the Congress government had officially admitted that it had given only 35,000 jobs during the last more than four years which included filling up of vacancies as well as adjustments on compassionate grounds.

He said similarly AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal had claimed to have provided eight lakh jobs to youth in Delhi while an RTI report from the Delhi Employment Exchange showed that only 214 jobs had been given to youth by the Delhi government in the last three years.

Mr Parambans Romana also condemned chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and finance minister Manpreet Badal for misusing the name of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in their election manifesto.

He said the Congress party had under the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Rozgar Sirjan Yojna promised to implement three schemes – Apni Gaddi Apna Rozgar entailing easy finance for four wheelers, Hara Tractor entailing provision of 25,000 tractors to youth on easy installments and Yaari Enterprises to encourage youth to set up their own businesses.

“None of these have been even taken up for implementation proving that the party had only coined these schemes to befool the youth. He also disclosed how the Congress government had reneged on its promise to give Rs 2,500 per month unemployment allowance to youth.

Asking the chief minister to tell one thing he had done for the people, Mr Romana said Capt Amarinder had committed the biggest sacrilege by taking a false oath in the name of Gutka Sahib and the Dasam Pitah. He said Punjabis were promised a complete farm loan waiver.

He said instead of waiving off loans, the chief minister had ended up indebting farmers as they did not pay the loan installments believing his promise of complete Rs 90,000 crore loan waiver. He said similarly the poor and the old ages had also been backstabbed. “Both the promise of Rs 2,500 per month old age pension and Rs 51,000 dispensation under Shagun scheme have remained on paper since more than four years”, he added.

The YAD President said Capt Amarinder had promised in the run up to the 2017 assembly election to eradicate drug menace in a space of four weeks. He said drug addiction had increased during Congress tenure with even its ministers including Balbir Singh Sidhu accused of encouraging it.

Mr Romana said during the earlier SAD led government as many as 3.3 lakh scheduled caste students availed the benefits of the SC scholarship scheme but the Congress government had denied the benefits of this scheme to the SC students. He said due to the Congress government’s failure to implement the scheme and the embezzlement of SC scholarship funds by SC Welfare minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot as many as 2.5 lakh SC students had exited Colleges.

Others who spoke on the occasion included SAD legislator Pawan Tinu, Sarabjit Singh Makkar, Seth Satpal Mal, Sarabjot Singh Saabi, Sukhdeep Singh Sukaar, Tejinder Singh Nijjar and Gurdeep Singh Ladhra.
