Congress, AAP elements disguised as farmers protesting against SAD: Majithia comes up with photographic evidence

Chandigarh, September 2, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Singh Majithia today said the attempts to disrupt the massive Akali gatherings being organised as part of the party’s Gal Punjab Di campaign were part of a deep-rooted conspiracy of the Congress party in conjunction with the central government to disturb the hard won peace in Punjab and impose President’s rule in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Bikram Majithia said the disruptive conspiracy had a twin objective – to postpone the assembly elections in Punjab as well as defame the

peaceful farmer movement. He said senior farmer leaders were also wary of this conspiracy and that was why they had given clear cut directions to take only BJP leaders to task and not disturb any other programme of any political party in Punjab. “ The Samyukt Morcha has made it clear that protests against any other party except the BJP would only serve to help the central government and would harm the cause of the farmers”.

Mr Majithia also present photographic and video evidence to expose Congress and AAP workers who were trying their level best to disturb ongoing programmes of the SAD including an attack on his car as well as violence unleashed in Moga today. He presented the picture of Srihargobindpur market committee member Harvinder Rana who led a protest against him yesterday by posing as a farmer.

He displayed social media posts which link Rana with Congress legislator Balwinder Laddi. He also released pictures of another Laddi supporter – Pintu Shah Pannu who was also part of yesterday’s protest at Srihargobindpur. He also displayed pictures of supporters of Congress minister Sukhjinder Randhawa, mla Darshan Brar and Ravneet Bittu who led protests yesterday in the guise of farmers.

Mr Majithia said the same was happening during protests held against the Gal Punjab Di campaign being led by Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal. “Congress activists who were leading the protests have been identified at Samrala. Even at Malout one of the “Kisan leaders” who were leading a protest included Lakha Sharma who is a known AAP activist”.

Mr Majithia said it was unfortunate that the Punjab Police had become party to the anti- Punjab conspiracy to disturb the hard own peace of the State. “It is condemnable that miscreants are being allowed to approach the vehicles of SAD leaders to create lawlessness”.

He said in stark contrast no function of the Congress party was being disturbed as was witnessed in Batala recently where Congress MP Partap Bajwa held a public meeting. “It is apparent that the Congress party has become jittery at the success of the Gal Punjab Di campaign as well as the steady exodus from the party on a daily basis”.

Speaking about the one day assembly session being held tomorrow to mark the 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Mr Majithia said after commemorating the Guru Sahiban a full fledged session should be held to discuss the burning issues of Punjab. “It seems the Congress government is running away from facing the people”. He also expressed surprise that the Congress party had issued a whip to its legislators to ensure their presence in the special session.

He said the session was a good opportunity for PCC President Navjot Sidhu and his supporters to bring in a no confidence motion against the chief minister. “They should do this instead of befooling the people”. He also demanded that the session be extended and other issues including need to repeal the three agri acts as well as problems of farmers, youth and weaker sections be taken up.
