The trade license of a Commission Agent who was over-weighing the produce of a farmer at Dhablan Mandi falling under Market Committee Patiala, has been placed under suspension for 7 days.
The action was taken by the Secretary Market Committee Mr Parampal Singh while inspecting the mandis following the instructions of Mr Sandeep Hans, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala.
Divulging the details, District Mandi Officer Ajaypal Singh Brar said that as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner, the Mandi Board officials were on the job to inspect all the procurement centers in the district and during this random checking, a firm was found guilty of weighing 800 gms more per bag.
He said that during the inspection carried out by the Market Committee Secretary at Dhablan Mandi, the paddy of Kisan Jagtar Singh, a resident of village Dhablan, who had brought his produce to a firm named M/s Som Nath Baldev Krishan for procurement, was being weighed more 800 grams per bag.
A total of 130 bags of paddy weighing 800 grams per bag more than the prescribed limit, were found and the license of the concerned firm was suspended for 7 days.
The District Mandi Officer said that as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, random inspections were being carried out in all the mandis of the district and strict action would be taken if any one was found violating the rules.
