Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with his wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann, brought his newborn daughter Niamat Kaur Mann to Chief Minister Residence on Friday. The babygirl was welcomed with dhol, flowers and cake by the family and relatives of CM Mann.
Talking to the media on this occasion CM Mann said that today is a big day for my family, my wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and I, as we are welcoming a healthy child to our home and into our lives. He said that all our relatives are at the CMR to welcome the newborn. He also thanked God for a healthy child and mother.
“Only pray for a healthy child, boys and girls are equals, whether you’ve a son or daughter educate them, teach them about our history and culture, make them capable of paddling their own canoe. Our daughters are no less than anyone. I’m happy to be the father of a daughter,” Mann’s message to the people as he welcomed his newborn to his house.
Responding to a media query Mann said that he avoided visiting hospital with Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann during her pregnancy because of the security protocols hospital’s functioning used to get disrupted. After the birth of his daughter he visited the hospital at late hour and only went today to bring her home.
About wishes of Arvind Kejriwal Mann said that his wishes mean the world to him as Arvind Kejriwal fulfilled the responsibilities of the father during Mann’s wedding to Dr Gurpreet Kaur.
