Centre trying to weaken SAD but won’t succeed, leaders who left Akali Dal got finished politically: Sukhbir Badal

Nakodar/Shahkot, December 3, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the centre was trying to weaken the SAD but would not succeed even as he asserted that all leaders who had left the mother party had been finished forever.

Addressing public rallies here in favour of party candidates Gurpartap Singh Wadala and Bachittar Singh Kohar respectively, the SAD President said conspiracies were being hatched to weaken the SAD as it was the true representative of Punjabis worldwide. “The SAD is the first to safeguard the interests of Punjabis in India and abroad and this is not liked by many. This is why they want to weaken the SAD. I appeal to you to keep your house strong as the SAD is your strength”.

Mr Sukhbir Badal also made a number of announcements which were wholeheartedly welcomed by large congregations at both Nakodar and Shahkot. Following an appeal from the people, he announced that all blue cards which had been deleted during the Congress government tenure would be revived within one month of formation of the SAD-BSP alliance government. He also announced that ‘inteqal’ would be done for all pieces of individual land to end strife within one year. He also announced that all farmers who did not possess a tubewell connection would be given one on priority.

Speaking about the problems of the people of the area, Mr Badal said the next SAD-BSP government would take up construction of a bundh on the Sutlej River immediately on coming to power. He also announced that the scourge of drug and sand mafia in the area would be brought to an end immediately.

Speaking about the theatrics of chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Mr Badal said it was shocking that the CM indulged in a farce by holding a ‘sangat darshan’ in front of his residence at 1 pm. “Had Channi been sincere a woman of Cheema Kalan village in Nakodar would not have committed suicide at his door step in sheer frustration after he refused to listen to her persistent pleas regarding help in resolving a property dispute”.

Mr Badal also asked Channi to tell what his government or even the one headed by Capt Amarinder Singh had done in the last nearly five years. “Tell me one school or hospital which you have established”, Mr Badal asked adding the chief minister was bent upon telling lies to tom-tom mere announcements which were yet to see the light of day. He said rather than doing anything the government had scrapped pensions, scrapped blue cards, scrapped the Mukhya Mantri Teerath Yatra besides scrapping Sewa Kendra and even novel schemes like providing gyms to youth in villages.

Elaborating on the 13 point programme of the SAD-BSP alliance, Mr Badal said all women heads of families would be given an allowance of Rs 2,000 per month under the Mata Khivi scheme. He said besides this, students would be extended a student loan of Rs 10 lakh.

He also announced that traders would be eligible for life, medical and fire insurance of Rs 10 lakh respectively and that all families in the State would be covered under the Rs 10 lakh per annum medical insurance scheme. He also announced that youth entrepreneurs would be given an interest free loan of Rs 5 lakh.

The party President received a warm reception from young motorcyclists en route the two rallies.
