The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) will offer free coaching to Scheduled Caste Candidates for the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination 2023.
The free coaching will be offered under the aegis of the newly established Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) established at the CUPB campus by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Interested SC Candidates can apply through CUPB Website http://cup.edu.in/dace/ until 15th June, 2022
Dr. Vinod Arya, Nodal Officer, DACE-CUPB, informed that Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence (DACE), at the Central University of Punjab is inviting applications from Scheduled Caste Candidates for admissions to free coaching for Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examinations 2023 (Preliminary & Mains).
The admissions will be made through entrance examination after the registration process. He added that a total of 100 SC candidates will be selected on for free coaching for one-year duration, out of which 33 % of seats will be reserved for female Scheduled Caste Candidates.
Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, stated that the objective of CUPB-DACE is to develop administrative capacity building among SC youngsters and empower them to contribute to the nation building.
Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) is a flagship programme of DAF, MoSJE, and CUPB is one among the 31 central university/institution in India where this scheme has been introduced. Through this scheme, the Centre through specialized and free coaching will attempt to enhance the capabilities of the Scheduled Caste to successfully clear the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
The students enrolled at CUPB-DACE would be provided specialized coaching by highly qualified faculty of the university, external subject experts in separate classrooms and would be given access to high speed Wi-Fi connectivity, library access, etc. The coaching is aimed to be imparted as per the requirement of Civil Services Examination Preliminary and Mains Examination with focus on social sciences.
The coaching benefits under the scheme may only be utilized by a student once, regardless of the number of chances that he/she may be entitled to on a particular competitive examination. Apart from the submission of essential certificates, candidates also need to submit to the University an affidavit stating that he/she has not received any monetary benefit from any of the other schemes by the Government of India, State/UTs or any funding agency.
