Amritsar/Chandigarh, December 5, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal launched sharp political attacks today against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its leader Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi during a press conference.
Dhaliwal said that former Congress leaders who have now joined the BJP, what he called “BJP’s Congress Wing”, are being exposed one after another. He added that it is natural for this wing to lean towards the BJP because both share the same mindset and mentality of hatred towards Punjab.
The AAP leader said that a leader of this very Congress wing within the BJP, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, had announced a programme today to celebrate the completion of 100 years of the Gang Canal, where BJP’s central ministers were also expected to arrive with great fanfare.
Dhaliwal, turning the pages of history, said that the history of the Gang Canal is well known. This canal was given as a reward to the then Maharaja of Bikaner, Ganga Singh, for stabbing the country in the back and flattering the British. The British diverted this canal from the Sutlej River near Ferozepur, Punjab, and gifted it to Rajasthan, an outright robbery of Punjab’s rightful share.
Dhaliwal accused this Congress wing of the BJP of looting Punjab’s rights for several decades. He said that today, on December 5, when this canal, started in 1925, has completed 100 years, celebrating this loot is nothing but rubbing salt on the old wounds of Punjabis. This proves that these leaders have no pain or concern for Punjab in their hearts.
Kuldeep Dhaliwal praised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying that on one hand, Punjab’s son and protector of its rights, Bhagwant Mann, is directly confronting the central government on issues like SYL and BBMB, strongly presenting Punjab’s case in the Supreme Court.
On the other hand, this ‘Congress wing of the BJP’ is celebrating the betrayal and plunder of Punjab’s waters. He said the people of Punjab will never forgive these traitors.
