BJP Leader and Former Union Minister Urges Kangana Ranaut to Refrain from Remarks Against Sikhs and Bhindranwale

Chandigarh, September 19, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Som Parkash has urged Bollywood actress-turned-politician and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut to refrain from making controversial comments about Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and the Sikh community.

Som Parkash, a former IAS officer and a former MP from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, served as the Minister of State in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet from 2019 to 2024.

Addressing the issue on X (formerly known as Twitter), he expressed concern over Kangana’s recent remarks, which he said were hurtful to the Sikh community.

In his statement, Som Parkash said, “Kangana Ranaut must restrain from making unnecessary comments against Sant Jarnail Singh and the Sikh community. Such remarks hurt the feelings of the Sikh community. She must remain disciplined. No one should be allowed to disturb the peace in Punjab.”

Kangana has often sparked controversy with her outspoken views, particularly targeting farmers, Punjabis, Sikhs, and now Bhindranwale. Her statements have previously led to tensions, and she has been summoned and reprimanded by the BJP’s National President JP Nadda for her remarks, which have at times placed the party in difficult and embarrassing situations.
