Bhai Ranjit Singh spreading lies for publicity, statement regarding Ayali Kalan Gurdwara misleading: SGPC

Amritsar, July 12, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken stern notice of the statement made by former Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh to deliberately defame the management of the Sikh body and asked him to stay within its purview.

SGPC secretary Mahinder Singh Ahli said in a press statement that Bhai Ranjit Singh is deliberately misleading the Sangat (devotees) by misrepresenting the affairs of Gurdwaras, which did not suit his status.

“The statement of the former Jathedar regarding 32 acres of land of Gurdwara Sri Tharha Sahib at Ayali Kalan in Ludhiana district is far from the facts. Bhai Ranjit Singh is making false statements just to make headlines as per his habit, while the SGPC in collaboration with the Sangat is erecting the boundary walls to protect the land.

GMADA wanted to acquire this historical land associated with the history of Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Guru, but the SGPC would not allow this to happen”, said Mahinder Singh Ahli.

He said that a letter has been written by the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur to the Punjab Government regarding this matter and at the same time the work of erecting boundary wall of Gurdwara Sahib has also been started.

“The SGPC will not hand over this land to GMADA under any circumstances. The work of the boundary wall has been going on since July 2 and to a large extent the boundary wall has been completed”, said Mahinder Singh Ahli.

Ahli said as per the directions of SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and SGPC chief secretary Harjinder Singh Dhami, he had been personally visiting Gurdwara Sahib at Ayali Kalan to keep a vigil.

SGPC secretary Mahinder Singh Ahli said that the SGPC in collaboration with the Sangat is working to secure the land of Gurdwara Sahib but it is unfortunate that Bhai Ranjit Singh is giving such statements only to make news for one day and misleading the Sangat.

SGPC secretary said that the former Jathedar should refrain from spreading lies for publicity and should take care of his status.
