Arvind Khanna, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former MLA, expressed concern over the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal senior leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal at Sri Darbar Sahib. He demanded a high-level investigation into the incident.
Khanna attributed the deteriorating situation in Punjab to the flawed policies of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of giving free rein to gangsters and other anti-social elements, leading to such incidents.
Khanna further emphasized the need for an inquiry into how there was a security lapse for a Z-plus protected leader. He suggested that the attack might be part of a well-thought-out conspiracy, which could only be uncovered through a thorough investigation.
Khanna noted that the incident has raised concerns among peace-loving people of Punjab. He concluded that the attack highlighted the current law and order situation in Punjab, which now seems to be solely reliant on God.
