Around 1,000 youths from Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka and Ferozepur districts participated in the fifth day of the Agniveer recruitment rally at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium in Ferozepur on Friday.
The recruitment rally, being held for candidates from Ferozepur, Faridkot, Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib and Bathinda districts, is being conducted under the aegis of the Golden Arrow Division and Vajra Corps.
The recruitment process has been proceeding smoothly with coordinated efforts by the Army, district administration, police, NGOs and local residents. A joint team of Army and police personnel has been deployed for round-the-clock security at the venue to ensure the safety of candidates and facilitate the smooth conduct of the rally.
Abhishek Sharma, SDM, said the district administration, with support from NGOs, had made arrangements for essential facilities at the venue, including drinking water, toilets, electricity, internet connectivity and medical assistance.
“Besides, arrangements have also been made to provide food, water and other basic requirements to candidates after they complete their physical tests,” the SDM said.
The coordinated efforts of the Army, civil administration, police, NGOs and local residents have helped ensure the orderly conduct of the recruitment process, with facilities being provided to candidates participating in the rally.
