Megastar Anil Kapoor has been honoured with Best Supporting Actor for Animal at the recently held Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2024.
Kapoor’s nuanced performance as a father has hugely contributed significantly to the film’s success. His act as Balbir Singh has left a mark in audience’s heart.
The actor has given two consecutive hits- Animal and Fighter- within a span of two months. While Animal has made 870Cr and is currently streaming digitally, Fighter is running successfully in cinemas and has crossed 350Cr at the box-office.
Kapoor’s Dadasaheb Phalke Award win highlights the industry’s recognition of his accomplishments and how he’s been able to keep himself relevant over the years.
While ‘Animal’ has become one of the most successful films of the year, with the aerial action- thriller ‘Fighter’, directed by Siddharth Anand, the megastar has went on to set some serious acting standards.
The film sees him as squadron leader Rocky, who fearlessly performs aerial combat sequences with costars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshaye Oberoi.
The film released on January 25, 2024. The film is produced by Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures and Viacom 18.
