Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Tuesday met Gursharan Kaur, wife of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, at her residence in Delhi and paid tribute to the late leader’s contribution to the country.
During the meeting, Aujla presented Gursharan Kaur with prasad from Sri Harmandir Sahib and a siropa as a mark of respect. He also recalled Dr Manmohan Singh’s services to the nation and expressed solidarity with his family.
Aujla said Dr Manmohan Singh’s competence, integrity and simplicity had earned recognition across the world. He said the former Prime Minister devoted his life to the progress and welfare of India and achieved several significant milestones during his public career.
The Congress MP also criticised the BJP, alleging that political attempts had been made to put a leader of Dr Manmohan Singh’s stature and integrity “in the dock” through criticism and allegations.
“There may be a delay in the court of God, but there is no injustice,” Aujla said, adding that Dr Manmohan Singh’s honesty, selfless service and contribution to the nation had ultimately stood the test of time.
Describing Dr Manmohan Singh as more than just a politician, Aujla said he was an invaluable contribution to humanity and had made a lasting contribution to India’s development.
Aujla also conveyed his respects to the family and prayed for eternal peace for Dr Manmohan Singh’s soul. He wished the family continued strength and “Chardi Kala” and said the former Prime Minister’s life, integrity and dedication would continue to inspire future generations.
