In a continued crackdown on drug smugglers, the District Administration Amritsar demolished the house of Anwar Gill and Abhi, notorious drug smugglers, in Village Gumtala, Police Station Cantonment. The demolition was carried out using a JCB machine and laborers.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who oversaw the operation, warned drug smugglers that anyone involved in illegal activities will face strict action. He emphasized that the administration will continue to take action until those involved in wrongdoing either reform or leave Punjab.
According to Police Commissioner Bhullar, five cases have been registered against Anwar Gill, including one under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. Abhi also has cases registered against him under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. Both Anwar Gill and Abhi are cousins and reside in the same house.
The demolition is part of the ongoing war against drugs launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The administration has been instructed to take strict action against anyone involved in drug trafficking.
DCP Alam Vijay Singh, S. Shivdarshan Singh, and other senior police officers were present during the demolition.
