Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar said today that people of Punjab are eagerly waiting for the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will lead the party’s rally in Moga on March 14. Jakhar made this statement after a meeting held to review preparations for the rally.
Jakhar said that the situation in Punjab is currently extremely critical . Economically, the state is under a heavy debt burden, and people are forced to live in an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. In such circumstances, people are looking toward the Bharatiya Janata Party with hope and belief that only the strong leadership of the BJP can bring the state out of this difficult period.
He added that just as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was considered the “Iron Man” of India, Amit Shah is being regarded as the “Iron Man of modern India.” He also stated that Amit Shah has deep concern for Punjab and that appointing a Punjabi as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is a matter of pride for the state.
Jakhar further said that the current AAP government in Punjab has failed on every front, while the Congress, as the opposition, has surrendered before Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and people’s issues have disappeared from the agendas of both the government and the opposition.
According to him, the alliance between AAP and Congress is now evident, which is why when Rahul Gandhi visited Punjab, he did not say a single word against the AAP government.
Raising questions for Arvind Kejriwal, whom he referred to as the “super CM of Punjab,” Jakhar said that the government claims it will honor women by presenting the budget on International Women’s Day, but it should also clarify the role of Vaibhav Kumar in the Punjab government, who has allegedly assaulted a woman MP.
He also said the government must account for the financial assistance promised to women, particularly the pending amount of ₹48,000 per woman for the last 48 months.
Commenting on the ongoing Punjab Assembly session, Jakhar questioned Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, asking whether he would have the courage to raise the issue in the Assembly about PRTC buses being sent to Jaipur for painting in AAP party colors.
He alleged that during the previous Congress government, files related to bus bodies being installed in Rajasthan were kept by the Chief Minister to blackmail Congress leaders. Now that the current government itself is sending buses to Jaipur for painting, he asked whether Bajwa would question this move.
Jakhar also questioned why contracts are continuously being given outside Punjab. “Does Punjab not even have painters capable of painting buses?” he asked, adding that the public wants to know what is behind these decisions.
