AAP should find concrete ways to address stubble burning issue: Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh, Nov 10, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)

The State party President Mr Sunil Jakhar while dubbing the AAP state government for abdicating its responsibility to give good governance said that the Advocate General had no business to tell the Supreme Court that Punjab will switch from Paddy to Bajra cultivation.

Addressing the media here today at the State Party headquarters Mr Jakhar said that it is not the “ Prerogative “ of the Advocate General to make such an colossal decision for a primarily an agrarian state like Punjab.

The chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Singh Mann needs to come up with an comprehensive strategy to address this pertinent crisis. On the contrary Mr Mann has turned the administration into a farce and a comedy.

Mr Jakhar said that last year the AAP minister Mr Dhariwal had announced that the Delhi Model will be implemented and 30 rupees her hectare will be the cost of bio decomposer.

According to an RTI report the AAP government in delhi spend two lakhs on bio- decomposer , one lakh on Jaggery and a whopping 22 crores on advertisements.
The central government has since 2018 given 1370 crores in subsidy which amounts to 50 percent in buying the machines in the state.

The ED in its investigation found that 1125 machines were missing .This year the Central government has asked the state government to raise up 140 crores to get 360 crores subsidy for the machines however the Mann government is still dilly dallying causing the farmers huge suffering.

Mr Jakhar while agreeing that the hazard of stubble burning should be tackled on war footing however condemned the Mann government for registering cases against farmers.

Speaking on law and order he said “The state is reeling under duress economically and politically as liqour, and drug mafia operates from the state’s jails under patronage of AAP” .
The Chief Minister unfortunately has little regard for the truth last year he had promised in May 2022 that the state government will compensate on the deficit of MSP on Maize, Sunflower and Moong . However the farmers were left in lurch as 12 percent were only able to get their due.
