Punjabi sensation and actor Diljit Dosanjh is set to lend his vocal talents to a song in the upcoming film Jigra.
The song, tentatively titled “Kudi”, will feature actress Alia Bhatt, sparking excitement among fans of both stars.
Alia Bhatt Teases Collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh
Alia Bhatt recently shared a photo on social media that hinted at their collaboration. In the picture, both Diljit and Alia are seated on chairs with their backs to the camera. Diljit’s chair has the words “Sings about Kudi”, while Alia’s chair reads “The said Kudi”, playfully teasing their roles in the song. Alia captioned the post, “Chairs say it all @diljitdosanjh”, further fueling excitement about their collaboration in Jigra.
Jigra Teaser and Plot
The teaser for Jigra was unveiled on September 8, offering a glimpse into the life of two siblings, portrayed by Vedang Raina and Alia Bhatt, who have endured a troubled childhood. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film revolves around the deep bond between a sister and her brother, focusing on how the sister will go to any lengths to protect him.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Jigra is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024, and promises to be an emotional drama highlighting the power of familial love.
Diljit Dosanjh’s Recent and Upcoming Projects
Diljit Dosanjh has been busy working on several high-profile projects. He was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film Amar Singh Chamkila, which explored the life of the infamous Punjabi singer. On September 6, it was announced that Diljit would be joining the cast of Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.
A motion poster for Border 2 was shared by the filmmakers, beginning with a verse from “Sandese Aate Hai”, the iconic song from the original 1997 film Border. The poster revealed the tagline, “The bravest come together for the biggest war,” unveiling Diljit’s name as part of the star-studded cast.
Border 2 and Diljit Dosanjh’s Role
Border 2 will be directed by Anurag Singh and is set to be released on January 23, 2026. While the original Border was based on the Battle of Longewala, Border 2 is believed to focus on the events of the 1999 Kargil War. Pakistani forces infiltrated the Line of Control (LoC) and occupied territory in the Kargil district, leading to one of India’s most intense military conflicts.
Sunny Deol took to Instagram to officially welcome Diljit to the cast, sharing the motion poster with the caption, “Welcoming fauji @diljitdosanjh to the battalion of Border 2.”
