A spectacular drone show featuring 500 drones was organised at the Multi-Purpose Outdoor Lajwanti Stadium in Hoshiarpur on Thursday as part of Punjab’s celebrations marking the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
The aerial presentation brought Guru Ravidas Ji’s life and teachings to the sky through digital technology and visual storytelling. The show highlighted his timeless message of equality, brotherhood, compassion, social justice and human dignity and was witnessed by a large gathering of devotees.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa said the Punjab government would celebrate the 650th Parkash Purab on a grand scale through programmes being organised across the state.
He said drone shows, documentary screenings, seminars in educational institutions and religious programmes were being organised to familiarise people, particularly the younger generation, with the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
Jimpa said the state government was organising 92 drone shows as part of the celebrations. He said the initiative was aimed at taking Guru Ji’s teachings to younger generations and highlighting their continuing relevance.
The MLA said the government had earmarked Rs 100 crore for programmes dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purab. He added that documentaries based on Guru Ji’s life and teachings were being screened in 13,000 villages to take the message to the grassroots.
Seminars on Guru Ravidas Ji’s life and philosophy are also being organised for students in educational institutions across Punjab, he said.
During the event, Punjab Jails Minister Dr Ravjot Singh, saints from different parts of the district and a large number of devotees were present.
Ragi Bhai Jasvir Singh Ji presented Gurbani Shabad and Kirtan during the programme, adding a devotional dimension to the celebrations.
The state-wide programmes are part of Punjab’s preparations to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji through cultural, religious and educational initiatives.
