Harpal Singh Cheema Meets Employee Unions, Directs Departments to Expedite Pending Issues

Punjab Finance Minister and Cabinet Sub-Committee Chairman Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday held meetings with representatives of various employee unions and directed concerned departments to expedite matters requiring intervention from the Finance and Personnel Departments.

Cheema said the Bhagwant Mann government was committed to resolving employees’ genuine demands in a fair and transparent manner, while stressing the importance of constructive dialogue and timely action in strengthening trust between the government and its workforce.

During the meetings, the Finance Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands raised by the employee representatives. He directed heads of the concerned departments to address legitimate issues without delay and instructed officials to expedite cases requiring approval or intervention from the Finance Department or Personnel Department.

“The Bhagwant Mann government remains steadfast in its resolve to address employees’ genuine demands in a fair and transparent manner,” Cheema said.

He added that the Cabinet Sub-Committee would continue its dialogue with employee unions to ensure that legitimate concerns were addressed promptly.

“The Cabinet Sub-Committee will continue to engage with employee unions to ensure that legitimate concerns are addressed promptly, thereby strengthening trust between the Punjab Government and its workforce,” the Finance Minister said.

Representatives from a wide range of employee organisations participated in the meetings. These included members of the PSEB Engineers’ Association, Powercom and Transco Theka Mulazam Union, General Categories Welfare Federation PSEB, Sarkari ITIs Theka Mulajam Union, Rural Health Pharmacist Union, Rural Health Pharmacy Officer Association and Punjab Police Waiting List 2016 Union.

Among those present were Er Jasvir Singh Dhiman, Er Ajaypal Singh Atwal, Er Amardeep Singh, Er Jatinder Garg, Er Sukhwant Singh and Er D K Goyal; Balihar Singh, Tek Chand, Balwinder Singh, Sandeep Khatri, Sher Singh and Mandeep Singh; Kuljit Singh Ratol; Sewa Singh; Gurmeet Singh and Navjot Kaur; Kamaljeet Singh Chouhan; and Amandeep Singh.

The unions presented their respective concerns and demands, which were noted for further action and resolution.
