Aujla described Pilot as a young, energetic and experienced leader and said his political and organisational experience would benefit the Punjab Congress. He expressed confidence that under Pilot’s leadership, the party would strengthen its grassroots organisation and bring more young people into its fold.
Discussing the 2027 elections, Aujla said the Congress would contest the polls unitedly with a focus on raising issues concerning the people and strengthening the party organisation up to the booth level.
He said the appointment of Pilot had generated enthusiasm among Congress leaders and workers in Punjab. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress president Raja Warring and other senior leaders have also welcomed the appointment, he added.
Aujla also referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming visit to Punjab, saying a list of key issues related to Punjab and public welfare was being prepared and would be finalised soon.
He said Rahul Gandhi’s visit, Pilot’s organisational experience and unity among Punjab Congress leaders would provide fresh momentum to the party’s preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections.
