Jalandhar Warriors produced a stunning eight-wicket victory over Amritsar Soormas after chasing down a mammoth target of 265 in a high-scoring Sher-E-Punjab T20 League 2026 encounter at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday.
More than 500 runs were scored in the match, with Naman Dhir and Prabhsimran Singh producing spectacular centuries to headline an extraordinary batting display.
Batting first, Amritsar Soormas posted 264/5 in 20 overs, their highest total of the tournament so far. Captain Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a blistering 82 off just 36 balls, including five fours and seven sixes.
The Soormas raced to 79/1 in the powerplay before Abhishek and Naman Dhir took control. The pair added 151 runs for the second wicket, putting Jalandhar’s bowlers under sustained pressure.
Dhir continued the onslaught after Abhishek’s dismissal and brought up his century in just 52 balls with a huge six. He was particularly destructive against Abhinav Sharma, smashing four sixes in an over that cost 33 runs.
Dhir eventually departed for a magnificent 117 off 56 balls, including seven fours and 10 sixes. Jashanpreet Singh also contributed as Amritsar maintained their scoring rate to reach 264/5.
Jalandhar’s response was equally explosive. The Warriors raced to 103/1 in the opening six overs, with captain Prabhsimran Singh leading from the front. He reached his half-century in just 16 balls, recording the fastest fifty of the tournament.
Prabhsimran continued his assault alongside Harjas Tandon, with the pair adding 109 runs for the second wicket. Harjas fell for a brisk 42 off 21 balls, but the required rate remained firmly under control.
Prabhsimran then brought up his century in only 41 balls before Anmol Malhotra joined him in the middle. Malhotra also attacked from the outset, reaching his half-century in just 19 deliveries.
The Warriors completed the chase in 17.5 overs, finishing on 265/2 and securing an emphatic eight-wicket victory with 13 balls to spare.
Prabhsimran remained unbeaten on a sensational 125 off 47 balls, striking 14 fours and eight sixes, while Malhotra finished unbeaten on 52.
The match will be remembered as one of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League’s most spectacular run-fests, with Dhir’s 117 and Prabhsimran’s unbeaten 125 forming the centrepiece of an unforgettable night of batting in Mohali.
