The first day of the theatrical production ‘Hamare Ram’ received an enthusiastic response in Jalandhar on Friday, with two shows staged at the auditorium of CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus, as part of a Punjab Government initiative.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Adviser Deepak Bali attended the performances.

Inaugurating the first show, Bhagat said the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government was committed to taking the timeless teachings of Lord Shri Ram to people through theatre. He said the government respected all religions equally and that the initiative sought to highlight the values of truth, righteousness, compassion and unity while strengthening awareness of Sanatan traditions.

Bhagat said the government would organise 41 shows of ‘Hamare Ram’ across 12 cities in Punjab during August and September. He said the initiative would promote the state’s cultural heritage and traditional values while helping connect younger generations with India’s spiritual and cultural legacy.

He urged young people to draw inspiration from Lord Ram’s teachings and contribute to building an ideal society. He said the values associated with Lord Ram could guide humanity and help strengthen social harmony and communal amity.

Addressing the audience during the second show, Bali said the acclaimed production was being staged across Punjab by actor Ashutosh Rana, Rahul R Bhuchar, Turun Khanna and their team. He said the Punjab Government was organising the performances free of cost so that people from all sections of society could experience the production and draw inspiration from Lord Ram’s teachings.
