Punjab Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Wednesday held separate meetings with delegations of Punjab Mandi Board contractual employees, the Mandi Board Workers’ Union and Veterinary Inspectors to hear their demands and grievances.
The meetings were held at Kisan Bhawan in Chandigarh, where Khudian reviewed issues concerning operations, regularisation and other service-related matters raised by the employee representatives.
The Minister directed senior officials of the Punjab Mandi Board and Animal Husbandry Department to take immediate steps to resolve matters falling within their respective jurisdictions.
Reaffirming the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government’s commitment to employee welfare, Khudian assured the delegations that the demands contained in their memorandums would be examined on priority.
“All genuine demands and grievances would be resolved in a time-bound manner,” the Minister said.
Khudian also emphasised that the government was committed to addressing legitimate concerns of employees and ensuring that issues within departmental jurisdiction were dealt with promptly.
Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, Rahul Bhandari; Director Paramdeep Singh Walia; and other senior officials of the department and Punjab Mandi Board attended the meetings.
