Bathinda, August 21, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Punjab Government will organise a performance of the play ‘Hamare Ram’ at the Balwant Gargi Auditorium in Bathinda on August 24 as part of its initiatives to preserve cultural and religious traditions and promote communal harmony in the state.

Punjab Medium Industries Development Board Chairman Neel Garg announced this during a press conference. Punjab Cricket Association president Amarjeet Mehta, Improvement Trust chairman Jatinder Bhalla, Sanatan Sewa Samiti zonal coordinator Amerik Singh and zonal in-charge Jeetpal Jassi were also present.

Garg said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was organising various religious and cultural programmes with the stated objective of strengthening social harmony and helping people remain connected with their heritage.

He said initiatives include programmes such as ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ and visits to religious destinations associated with Sanatan tradition, including Mathura, Rishikesh, Salasar and Vrindavan.

As part of these efforts, the government will host the presentation of ‘Hamare Ram’, prepared by Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana and Rahul Bhuchar, at the Balwant Gargi Auditorium on August 24.

Amarjeet Mehta appealed to people to attend the presentation, saying the play dedicated to Lord Ram is being staged for the second time in response to public demand.

He said the initiative also seeks to encourage children and young people to remain connected with Punjab’s and the country’s cultural heritage.
