Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Monday launched the in-house designed and developed website of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, at Chandigarh, marking a step towards strengthening the university’s digital infrastructure.
Bains appreciated the university’s initiative and said educational institutions needed to continuously adopt technology to improve academic delivery, student engagement, institutional outreach and access to information.
He described the development of the website by the university’s own team as an indication of its growing technological capabilities and commitment to innovation and excellence. He also stressed the importance of creating an accessible, transparent and student-centric digital ecosystem.
MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma briefed the minister on various development initiatives being undertaken by the university, including efforts to strengthen student outreach, enhance academic and institutional visibility and expand engagement with stakeholders.
He also informed Bains about the encouraging rise in admissions during the ongoing academic session and the university’s efforts to bring more affiliated colleges on board.
Prof. Sharma said the new website had been conceived as a dynamic digital gateway through which students and other stakeholders could access academic, admission, examination, placement, research, administrative and other institutional information.
He added that the university would continue to upgrade its digital platforms in accordance with emerging technologies and changing requirements of students.
Director-Training and Placement Er Harjot Singh Sidhu was also present on the occasion.
