The Draft Electoral Roll 2026 for all 117 Assembly constituencies in Punjab was published on Thursday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, marking the beginning of the claims and objections process, Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Anindita Mitra said.
The publication follows the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India. The period for filing claims and objections will remain open from August 13 to September 12, 2026, while the notice and disposal phase will continue from August 13 to October 8.
Mitra, IAS, chaired a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties on Thursday and handed over copies of the Draft Electoral Roll to them. The representatives were also briefed about the prescribed forms for various electoral services.
Form 6 is to be used for inclusion of names, Form 6A for enrolment of NRI voters, Form 7 for deletion of names, and Form 8 for correction of entries or shifting of residence.
The CEO said young citizens attaining eligibility with the qualifying date of October 1, 2026 can also apply for enrolment. Political party representatives were further informed about facilities available through the Citizen Service Portal and the “Book a Call Request with BLO” service.
Special Camp on August 16
For the convenience of voters, a one-day special camp will be organised at all polling booths across Punjab on August 16. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain available at polling stations from 10 am to 1 pm to help electors check their details in the Draft Electoral Roll and access electoral services.
Help Desks will also be established at the offices of District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) across the state, where voters can access the published Draft Electoral Roll and seek assistance in locating their names.
Electors can check their details in the Draft Electoral Roll through the CEO Punjab website and the Election Commission’s citizen portal.
Citizens whose names are missing from the Draft Electoral Roll can submit claims for inclusion, along with the prescribed declaration and supporting documents, during the claims and objections period from August 13 to September 12.
