Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Sunday interacted with residents of New Sun City Phase-1 in Basti Danishmanda, Jalandhar, during a Lok Milni programme and assured them that their grievances would be resolved at the earliest.
Bhagat said the Lok Milni initiative launched by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government was providing citizens with a direct platform to bring their concerns before the administration without hesitation.
He said the government was committed to building a “Rangla Punjab” and had undertaken major initiatives in healthcare, education, employment, infrastructure and industry. Welfare schemes, he added, were also being implemented effectively to ensure that their benefits reached a large number of people.
Earlier, Bhagat inaugurated newly installed streetlights in the area and initiated work on a tube well. He said improving basic amenities, accelerating development and ensuring timely resolution of public grievances remained among the government’s key priorities.
The minister also inaugurated new streetlights at the Basti Danishmanda Nala bridge. He said the improved lighting would enhance visibility at night and contribute to safer movement and better security for local residents.
During the Lok Milni, residents apprised the minister of various issues concerning the locality. Bhagat assured them that appropriate action would be taken to address their problems at the earliest.
Councillor Dr Manish, former councillor Saurav Seth and other local representatives and prominent residents were present on the occasion.
