Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur today inaugurated and dedicated to the public an underbridge constructed at Malout at a cost of approximately ₹12 crore. The project is part of the Punjab Government’s continuous efforts to strengthen core infrastructure across the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister described the underbridge as a significant gift to the residents of Malout, stating that it will streamline traffic movement and substantially reduce the daily hardships faced by commuters. She added that the project will help ease traffic congestion and contribute to a reduction in road accidents.
Highlighting its broader impact, she said that the underbridge is not merely an infrastructure project but a realization of long-cherished aspirations of the people of Malout. For years, railway crossings had disrupted daily life, causing delays for students and hindrances to emergency services. With this development, such challenges will now become a thing of the past, bringing greater ease to everyday life and giving a fresh impetus to regional growth.
Congratulating the residents, Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the long-pending demand for the underbridge has finally been fulfilled. She noted that a city which remained divided for decades will now witness improved connectivity, as the underbridge seamlessly links its two parts, opening new avenues for urban development.
She further reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is prioritizing development works by focusing on the basic needs of the people and is ensuring holistic development across all regions of the state. She also listened to the grievances of the people and assured their timely redressal.
