In a moment of great pride for Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ms Anusha Cherukuri, Ph.D. research scholar from the Department of Food and Nutrition, has been awarded the “Best Oral Presentation Award” at the International Conference on “Advanced Next Generation Vision for Emerging and Sustainable Healthy Foods (ANVESH)”.
The conference was held at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, Sonipat, from February 26–28, 2026.
Under the expert guidance of Dr Renuka Aggarwal, Senior Scientist, Ms Anusha presented a part of her research under the thematic area, “Alternative Proteins & Plant-Based Foods with Next-Gen Technologies for Smart, Novel, and Clean-Label Foods”.
Her research focused on the potential of leaf proteins as a sustainable alternative to conventional protein sources. The presentation received high appreciation from the scientific community and international dignitaries for its originality, methodological rigour, and strong potential to contribute to sustainable food systems.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor of PAU; Dr MIS Gill, Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, College of Community Science; and Dr Harpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Food and Nutrition, congratulated Ms Anusha and Dr Renuka Aggarwal for this outstanding accomplishment.
