A delegation of the Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh Unit on thursday met the Honorable Administrator of Chandigarh and Punjab Governor Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria under the leadership of S. Charanjit Singh Villy, President, Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh Unit.
The delegation comprised S. Charanjit Singh Villy ji, S. Balwinder Singh ji, S. Zabarjang Singh ji, S. Mandeep Singh ji, Shri Rajeev Tuli ji, and S. Nirbhai Singh ji.
During the meeting, the delegation raised several important issues concerning the citizens of Chandigarh, including which included Immediate implementation of the Anti-Defection Law, Extension of the Mayor’s term and enhancement of the Mayor’s powers, Permission for floor-wise registry, Relief to Housing Board residents regarding construction-related issues, Ownership transfer of GPA properties, Restoration of the Punjab–UT cadre ratio (60:40), Change of official language from English to Punjabi, Development of villages and colonies under Chandigarh, Up-gradation of sector dispensaries and all hospitals in Chandigarh, Protection of existing religious places, Better management of the Smart Parking System, Use of latest technology for effective traffic management, Urgent need for Metro or Mono Rail in Chandigarh, Fresh assessment of commercial property rates besides other issues.
S. Charanjit Singh Villy disclosed that the Honorable Administrator listened to all the issues raised by the delegation very patiently and assured appropriate action to address the grievances highlighted.
The Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh Unit sincerely appreciated the time taken by the Honorable Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria ji to meet the delegation and give a patient hearing to the genuine concerns of the people of Chandigarh.
