Reacting to Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar describing the Aam Aadmi Party as a “party of novices,” senior AAP Punjab leader and Punjab State General Secretary Baltej Pannu said that these very “novices” have accomplished tasks that governments led by seasoned politicians could not achieve for decades.
AAP Punjab State General Secretary Baltej Pannu said, “The government which Sunil Jakhar is calling a party of novices has increased the reach of canal water in Punjab from 22% to 68%. For years, experienced leaders made promises, but it is this government that delivered water to farmers’ fields.”
The AAP Punjab General Secretary further said, “In Punjab, the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) has been constituted, and as a result there has been a significant 48% reduction in on-the-spot deaths caused by road accidents. This is not rhetoric, this is measurable change on the ground.”
Highlighting public welfare measures, Baltej Pannu said, “Today, the common people of Punjab are receiving 300 units of free electricity per month. This relief has not been provided by any so-called experienced party, but by this very people-centric AAP government that Sunil Jakhar is calling novices.”
Baltej Pannu said, “Such a so-called government of novices is exactly the kind of government that should exist in every state of India. If expanding canal water reach from 22% to 68%, reducing on-the-spot road accident deaths by 48% through the Sadak Surakheya Force, and giving 300 units of free electricity every month to every household is the work of novices, then every state deserves such novices.
He added, “The truth is that the so-called experienced parties and their experienced governments pushed Punjab into a darker period over the last 70 years and did nothing but loot its resources. They weakened institutions, protected vested interests and reduced governance to personal gain. Punjab is now seeing the clear difference between decades of exploitation and a government that works honestly for its people.”
Baltej Pannu added, “Sunil Jakhar should devote his energy to advocating for the protection of Punjab’s interests rather than maligning political opponents. The people of Punjab are watching who works for them and who merely engages in political commentary.”
