Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, on Wednesday inaugurated an AICTE-approved, three-day Introductory Face-to-Face Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Universal Human Values (UHV), being held from February 19 to 21, 2026, at the university’s main campus.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Chairman, NCCIP, AICTE and former Vice Chancellor of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Vijay Sharma, Registrar, Central University of Punjab, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Both dignitaries underscored the importance of integrating moral ethics, human values, and character-building into technical education to develop socially responsible and balanced professionals.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma extended his best wishes to the participants and emphasized the role of value-based education in shaping responsible professionals. Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Brar highlighted the significance of such faculty development initiatives in enhancing academic quality and institutional growth, while Dr. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Campus Director, GZSCCET, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to holistic education. Veteran Prof. R.K. Bansal also graced the occasion.
More than 100 faculty members and academic professionals from various institutions are participating in the FDP, which features expert lectures, interactive sessions, group discussions, and activity-based learning focused on ethical professional practices, harmonious living, and sustainable societal development. Eminent resource persons from reputed institutions will conduct sessions during the programme.
The FDP is being coordinated by Dr. Ved Prakesh and Dr. Yadwinder Pal Sharma, with the objective of fostering a humane, ethical, and value-oriented academic environment.
