I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) hosted a joint freshers’ party for all branches of engineering courses. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal was the chief guest, Registrar Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu also graced the occasion while principals and faculty members from various schools in Jalandhar and Kapurthala were specially invited & they graced the occasion.
The event was organized by the university’s academic department.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp. Addressing as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal spoke about the university’s rich history and the global benefits and recognition of pursuing engineering at IKG PTU.
He explained how the level of education at all of the university’s campuses (Main Campus Kapurthala, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Batala, Hoshiarpur, and Mohali) is unique, with most faculty members having PhDs and global exposure. Engineering students hosted the stage and presented a cultural program.
The core committee of the activity included Dean Academics and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (Dr.) Yadvinder Singh Brar, Dean College Development and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department Dr. Balkar Singh, Dean Student Welfare and Head of the Electronics Department Dr. Satbir Singh, Associate Dean and Head of the Computer Science Department Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bedi, and Associate Dean P&EP and Head of the Civil Engineering Department Dr. Rajiv Chauhan.
The principals and faculty from MGN School Kapurthala, Anand Public School Kapurthala, and Sain Dass School Jalandhar were specially invited & they graced the occasion. The FM team of All India Radio Jalandhar also broadcast the event live.
