Former Punjab Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Capt Amarinder Singh was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali on Monday for knee-related medical treatment.
Sources said that the 83-year-old leader is undergoing treatment following a scheduled procedure and is currently in stable condition. Doctors have kept him under observation, and his health is reported to be satisfactory.
It may be recalled that Capt Amarinder Singh had earlier undergone knee replacement surgery at a Mohali-based hospital in May 2023.
A former Congress stalwart, Amarinder Singh later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after he was replaced as Punjab Chief Minister by Charanjit Singh Channi following a decision by the party’s central leadership.
Meanwhile, Haryana Minister Anil Vij visited the hospital to enquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery.
