In the 37th Punjabi Development Conference organised by Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Balbir Singh, Health Minister, Punjab, released the book ‘Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Study: Survey and Evaluation’. On this occasion, he said that Punjabi University Patiala is continuously contributing in the field of Punjabi Development and Religious Studies.
Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala Dr. Jagdeep Singh said that continuous research work is being done by the Guru Gobind Singh Chair established in the Department of Guru Gobind Singh Religious Studies with a grant from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
This chair had started the research work to survey and evaluate the studies related to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The second part of this project has been completed in the 350th year of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Prof. In charge of the Guru Gobind Singh Chair, Dr Gurmeet Singh Sidhu said that after collecting information from various libraries for the last five years, every book related to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has been studied.
In two volumes of this book, the survey, observation and evaluation of the study on the message of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Bani and the works done by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for the welfare of humanity and the various aspects of his martyrdom will be helpful for scholars and researchers to do more work in this field.
